Self-service portals are one of the cornerstones of service automation. Self-service portals and application provide users the possibilities to request, view and order services online. Where self-service concepts were initially primarily used in the IT Service Management domain, their success quickly transferred to other sectors: HR, Facilities and recreational services.
Another domain where the application of self-service portals has been growing is in (local) governments. Driven by the need to digitize and connect with citizens in a more intuitive and clear way, most governments have now launched a variety of self-service solutions. These solutions are frequently summarized under the umbrella term of e-Government services. E-Government services range from the request for parking permits, to entire legal dossiers, and facilitate interaction between governments and their citizens.
In recent weeks, the COVID-19 virus has shown the significance and importance of e-Government solutions. With citizens confined to their homes, and most government offices closed, e-Government solutions and services have been the most utilized technology to facilitate interaction between the government and their citizens.
In this webinar, we will discuss how to (quickly) design and set up a e-Government portal in Summit AI. We will discuss the design methodology of the Service Automation Framework, and subsequently showcase how automated services can be made available to the public.
