Why We Founded Cybiant

Almost everyone on the planet agrees that Big Data is changing the world at an unprecedented pace. Data and algorithms decide what news we see, who we should meet and what products we should buy. Data makes our lives easier to organize, and step-by-step we are getting more in control. We can compare products, services and employers. We can read reviews, provide feedback and form our own opinions. Data makes our life more open and more free than ever before. And we are just at the very early beginning. We are just starting to explore the possibilities of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. Although it is now still primarily in the domain of large enterprises, practical applications of these technologies will soon be available to all.

The big paradox about all these technological advances and improved insights is that better insights do not necessarily translate into better decision-making. In the last decade, we have seen many examples in which data is disputed, calculations are questioned or scientific methods are challenged. In many cases, this form of criticism resonates because data science and algorithms sound complicated and they seem hard to comprehend. The fear of the unknown makes people take decisions that are not in line with the factual data.

That is why we founded Cybiant. We believe that in the long run, data driven decisions are fundamentally better and can help to solve many of the world’s most pressing problems. We develop algorithms and employ data scientists to unearth patterns and information that lead to a brighter and more sustainable future.

How do we aim to realize our mission? First of all, we will help organizations to understand the world of Big Data, because acceptance starts with understanding. We offer events, training courses and official certifications to educate people about the benefits and challenges of Big Data, and how people can use it to their advantage. By demystifying the algorithms that shape our world, we can make Big Data accessible for every organization.

Secondly, we develop products and algorithms with which governments, corporations and individuals can make better decisions – every single day. With our expert knowledge, Cybiant develops solutions for organizations that aspire to make data-driven decisions, but lack the ability to set up analytics divisions or specialist Big Data functions. We build these solutions upon the infrastructure capabilities of the global tech leaders.

Lastly – and by far the most important – we develop and employ the absolute thought leaders in Big Data.
