Justin Woo, Petronas DigitalCourse Overview
The ITIL 4 Specialist: Create, Deliver & Support (CDS) certification is one of the four modules leading to the ITIL® Managing Professional designation. This module helps candidates understand how to integrate value streams and activities to create, deliver, and support IT-enabled products and services. It also equips learners with the practices, methods, and tools needed to strengthen service management performance.
Building on the principles introduced in ITIL 4 Foundation, the CDS module offers practical guidance for addressing the challenges faced by modern enterprises. It covers essential topics such as professionalism, team culture, collaboration, outsourcing, and supplier management. Rather than focusing on technical execution, CDS emphasizes a holistic view of what must occur across all four dimensions of service management to design and manage efficient, high-value services. As a result, this module is ideal for experienced practitioners, including team leads, managers, and consultants responsible for shaping and supporting digital and IT-enabled services.
A major element within CDS is its focus on value streams, which outline the steps an organization takes to create and deliver products and services to consumers. These value streams illustrate how work, information, and value flow through the service value chain as demand is transformed into outcomes.

The ITIL 4 Create, Deliver and Support examination validates a candidate’s ability to apply ITIL 4 concepts to service creation, delivery, and support. Achieving this certification also fulfills one of the key requirements toward the ITIL 4 Managing Professional designation, which recognizes professionals who demonstrate strong practical and technical expertise in managing modern IT services, teams, and workflows.
