Course Overview
The Public-Private Partnerships Preparation certification confirms that a candidate understands the core elements of a PPP framework and can apply project identification, screening, appraisal, and preparation in a governmental context. Certified candidates can contribute to PPP project development as part of a multidisciplinary team while building capability for more complex tasks.
The APMG Public-Private Partnerships Certification Program was created by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) and the World Bank Group (WBG), with support from the Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF). This global initiative seeks to raise the quality and consistency of PPP practices. CP3P s recognized as the leading credential for demonstrating alignment with international PPP good practices.
Governments use PPPs to procure infrastructure and services more effectively. The PPP Foundation course explains how PPPs create value when the right conditions exist. The Preparation certification focuses on using PPPs to deliver new or upgraded infrastructure so countries, especially in Emerging Market and Developing Economy regions, can attract private capital and expertise.
Private sector professionals also benefit from the certification. It helps them understand government objectives, institutional arrangements, and project requirements so they can pursue PPP opportunities with greater confidence.
The PPP Certification Program Guide, or PPP Guide, was developed by experienced practitioners to consolidate global best practices and promote consistent terminology. The Preparation Course and Examination draw on Chapters 2 to 5 of the guide. Please see a summary of the PPP Guide below:

The APMG Certified PPP professional is a Registered Trade Mark of the APM Group Limited.

Yeh Li Lim –
The discussions on projects in hand were great! The course duration definitely needs to be extended to facilitate more discussion rather than just learning the theory. This will help in applying the learnings.
Dr Haslin Dato Paduka Haji Ali –
Similar to the CP3P Foundation course, I especially like the fact that I was able to relate the relevant theory with the knowledge I gained through my experience of PPP projects, which further enhanced the application of such knowledge to my current work. The training session allowed us to have in-depth discussion, therefore it would be useful to increase the time allocated per day during the course to allow for this, as we were slightly rushed for time to complete the slides, etc.
Jessica Lai –
I liked the flexibility that Jan had allowed us to focus on certain topics or questions that we may have in the course. However, time management would need to improve to ensure that we are able to cover all syllabus, theory and sample exam questions in class. Perhaps the course content and delivery could include more case studies or allow for application of theories learned in class. The reason being, the questions asked during the online exam are on case study/scenario with questions that test for application of theories. Overall experience is great! :)
Norlinda Matnoor –
Examples from other countries on PPPs are insightful. The best practices on PPP process are shared by the trainer and Jan assisted me to understand and improve on the current process. Thank you.
EUGENE CAPO-CHICHI –
A very good course! I would prefer to have it physically.
