The APMG PPP Certification Program is an innovation of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) and the World Bank Group (WBG) and part funded by the Public-Private Infrastructure Advisory Facility (PPIAF) with a shared vision of enhancing PPP performance globally. CP3P is the definitive credential to demonstrate to your peers that your abilities are aligned with international PPP good practice.
PPPs are one way to procure infrastructure and services. As explained later in the Public Private Partnerships Foundation course, the PPP approach may provide significant benefits if and when a number of conditions are met. As PPPs are useful in procuring both infrastructure and services, this course is especially focused on better use of PPPs as a tool to deliver new or upgraded infrastructure. In this way, the greatest possible value from this procurement option can be extracted in order to help countries to fill the infrastructure gap by accessing more private capital and expertise in an efficient and programmatic manner; this is especially true for Emerging Market and Developing Economy (EMDE) countries.

The PPP Foundation course also introduces those aspects of PPPs that will be explained further in the rest of the PPP educational programs. These include the relevance and features of a proper PPP framework and the entire PPP process cycle, including a description of each of the phases that constitutes the process from a practical perspective
The PPP Certification Program Guide, referred to as the PPP Guide, was written by PPP practitioners. It comprises best practices from many countries and aims to bring a consistency of terms used in PPPs and to increase skills and capacity for the delivery of PPPs. The Public Private Partnership Foundation Course and Examination are based on Chapter 1, Appendix A and the Glossary of the PPP Guide.
The Public Private Partnerships Foundation certification is aimed at individuals who are involved in PPP projects and require a working knowledge of the key principles of financing PPP projects. The Foundation exam tests whether a candidate has sufficient knowledge and understanding of the PPP Guide to act as an informed team member of a PPP finance project. The Foundation certification is a pre-requisite for the Practitioner certifications
The Public Private Partnerships Foundation examination tests whether the course participant is able to demonstrate an understanding of the established procedures, roles and institutional responsibilities that determine how the Government selects, implements and manages PPP projects, as outlined in the PPP Guide, including terms used, Process sequences and roles involved.

Self-Paced-Online Learning - 3 months access
If your a choosing the Self-Paced-Online (SPO) learning option, you will complete the course on your own time, in your own pace. Cybiant will provide you with access to an online learning environment where you can watch videos, and practice with sample questions. The SPO option provides access for 3 months, and includes the official exam.
Virtual Training - 2x2hours per day
If you are choosing the virtual training learning option, you will participate in a live course by a Cybiant instructor, which is delivered 100% online. You will receive meeting invitations to participate in the live lectures through the Zoom platform. There will be 2 x 2-hour sessions per day, so this option does provide you with flexibility to plan some other work. All sessions are recorded, in case you miss any of the session. All virtual training courses include the official examination, which will be taken online on the last day of class.
Classroom Training - full day
If you are choosing the classroom training option, you will participate in this training in a live class in a 5-star hotel. This training option provides you with the opportunity to discuss topics in detail with other course participants, and learn from their experience. You will be trained by one of our Cybiant experts, and will complete the exam on the last day of class. Training is conducted daily, based on the following time schedule:

The aspect that a liked more about this course was the open and interactive discussion with the trainer. For future improvement, it would be more interesting to have colleagues from other organisations (outside ASEAN) participating in the same class to allow for more knowledge/experience sharing.

Trainer is knowledgeable and engaging; the presentations could capture contents of the written materials succinctly. My recommendation for improvement would be to extend it one more day to 5 days in total so that the course includes real examples.
