The purpose of the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt qualification is to confirm that a participant has sufficient knowledge and understanding of the Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodology and practice to be able to achieve significant improvements in performance and quality, either working as a team member in a large project or working alone as a junior project manager.
The content covered in this course is similar to the content covered in the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt course. However, whereas the Yellow Belt covers the basics and provides an overall view of Lean Six Sigma, the Green Belt delves further into the theory and calculations involved, whilst also exploring how to develop reliable, innovative products that meet customer expectations.
Topics that are discussed in the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification are:
- World Class Performance
- Process Improvement Deployment
- Project Management
- Creating a Solid Foundation
- Creating a Continuous Improvement Culture
- Creating Stable and Efficient Processes
- Creating Capable Processes
- Creating World Class Products and Service
Participants to the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training will gain the skills to:
- Analyse their organisation’s processes to identify the priority issues leading to waste and inefficiency
- Deeply investigate and understand the systemic root causes for these issues
- Understand what process improvement tools are available and how to best apply them to eliminate the source of the problem and drive customer value.
Effective Green Belts are capable of implementing significant change within their organisation. Participants will also learn how to manage people through change, how to lead an improvement project team, and how to engage with enterprise leadership. The Continuous Improvement Maturity Model will be introduced which charts the necessary changes organisations need to make, to move towards World Class Operational performance.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belts are specialists in executing Lean Six Sigma projects. With the right combination of specialist expertise, statistical analysis and structured Lean Six Sigma methodology, the Green Belt is able to achieve significant improvements in performance and quality. A Green Belt might work alone or as a junior project manager in a team or as a team member in larger Black Belt project.
